Manchester United and West Ham flop Ravel Morrison made his debut for new club Ostersund on Saturday.The 26-year-old signed a short-term deal with the Swedish minnows earlier this month, ending his miserable four-year spell at Lazio.2

Ravel Morrison could have been a Premier League star

He started on the bench but came on for the final 16 minutes in their goalless draw with Halmstads BK.Morrison came through Uniteds academy and former Old Trafford boss Sir Alex Ferguson thought he was better as a teenager than Wayne Rooney and Rio Ferdinand were.But the midfielder never fulfilled his potential and a move to West Ham and a series of loans followed before joining Lazio in 2015. He made just six appearances for the Serie A club.2

Morrison held talks with Steven Gerrards Rangers and Championship clubs over a move, but he opted to rebuild his career in Sweden.He told The Times: He (Gerrard) is a legend in football and he was willing to sit down and have a really good conversation.Certain old-school managers wouldnt have done that. My agent spoke to another manager, in the Championship, who just said No, he wont fit in here. My agent asked him to do some research, speak to people who have worked with me.The manager came back and said: OK, but he doesnt work hard enough, doesnt tackle back. Have you actually seen him play? Not recently. And its just excuses.Too many managers say no because they have a bad image of me from things from ten years ago.
